What exactly do you do as a Shopify developer?

Do you create Shopify stores from scratch?

What kind of Shopify development tasks do you handle?
Almost any front-end task: building new pages from mockups (e.g. Figma), developing custom sections for the theme editor, styling third-party apps to match the brand, optimizing for mobile, and troubleshooting visual bugs and layout issues.
What are the advantages of hiring a freelancer over an agency?
Direct communication with the person doing the work, without project managers or middlemen; cost-effective rates with no agency overhead; more flexibility without the bureaucracy of a larger organization; and personal commitment to the project's success from an independent developer.
What is your pricing?
Two main options: Hourly Shopify Development, billed at a standard hourly rate for one-off tasks; and Shopify Support & Maintenance, a monthly plan with a block of hours at a preferred, lower hourly rate for continuous improvement and support.
What is your payment process?
All payments are processed via invoice. Hourly Shopify Development is invoiced at the end of an agreed reporting period (e.g. bi-weekly or monthly) for the hours logged. Fixed-price and retainer packages require a 50% upfront deposit to schedule the work, with the remaining balance due on completion (Optimization Roadmap) or at the start of each monthly cycle (Support & Maintenance).
What payment methods do you accept?
PayPal, Wise, and direct bank transfer — other methods can be discussed if preferred.
What's the process for getting started?
The best way to start is a detailed description of the task via the contact page, which allows for reviewing the needs and preparing an initial estimate before the conversation continues.
How will we communicate during the project?
Communication channels are flexible — email, Slack, or Telegram, whatever works best — with responses during business hours as promptly as possible.
What do you need from me to get started?
Two things: a clear brief describing the task in detail, and temporary collaborator access to the Shopify admin with permissions to edit themes — the most secure way to grant access.
What is your typical turnaround time?
It depends on task complexity. Small fixes and edits are typically completed within 1-2 business days; larger tasks get a detailed time estimate after reviewing the requirements. Clients on the Shopify Support & Maintenance plan have their tasks prioritized.
What is your tech stack?
Front-end technologies of the Shopify ecosystem: HTML5, CSS3 (Sass), JavaScript (including jQuery), and Shopify's templating language, Liquid — plus Shopify CLI and Theme Kit.
Will the changes you make slow down my site?
The opposite — performance optimization is a top priority, and every modification is kept clean and efficient so it does not add unnecessary load to the site.
Do you work with any Shopify theme?
Yes, including popular themes from the Shopify Theme Store as well as completely custom themes built from scratch.
Can you help with Shopify app setup and customization?
Yes, for front-end styling so an app integrates seamlessly with the theme's design. As a front-end developer, modifying an app's core backend functionality isn't possible — that access is limited to the app's own developers.
Do you provide support after the project is complete?
Yes, the work is guaranteed — any bugs or issues resulting directly from the modifications after they go live are fixed free of charge.
